Bob Hummer's Two Card Location

A deck of cards is first freely shuffled. With your back turned, you allow anyone to insert a butter knife at any point in the deck. The deck is separated at that point and the spectator notes the card he chose. This process is repeated with a second spectator who chooses another card. Everything is above board. There are no breaks, bent or peeked at cards. You bring the deck forward and are now able to identify both selected cards. If you like, both the knife and deck can be borrowed.

Secret
A deck with a picture or some other "one-way" back design. Many bridge decks feature one-way back designs. If the deck is borrowed, make sure all of the backs are going in the same direction. Needless to say, this should be done covertly.

Handling
Allow a spectator to shuffle the deck; while watching to make sure he doesn't inadvertently reverse any cards. Now, place the deck behind your back. The deck should rest on your left hand palm. Your right hand grasps the deck from above with the right fingers toward the body and the thumb away (closest to the spectator). Allow a spectator to make a break anywhere in deck with the knife. Lift this portion up (above the knife) with your right hand, as you pivot the packet up and toward the spectator. Ask him to look at his card (the bottom card of the top packet). Now here's the tricky bit. In returning the top portion, your right hand simply gives its packet a 180-degree turn - so the back designs of those cards point in the opposite direction. In other words, you just turn your right wrist clockwise a half turn, until your right thumb is toward the body and your fingers are away - the opposite of the way you started. Repeat this same process with a second spectator. When you bring the deck forward, you will have two reversed portions with the selected cards at the bottom of each. You can now reveal those selections in any way you choose.
